I don't have much negative criticism but here are a list of the few things that it could brush up on:

Football books for women seem to fall into a unique category in our culture.
Recently, although beyond the blush of youth, we went back to college to get our degrees. In a huge library full of books, there were, indeed, books about women's issues.

And rightly so.

But we found no Math Books for Women. Or Geology Books for Women. Or Chemistry Books for Women.
It seems that French and Computer Science and Anthropology and American History can all be written in such a way that they can be understood equally well by either gender.
So what's with women's books to learn about football?
If a guy had never learned about American football (say he's from another country, or maybe he was heavily involved with ballroom dancing or advanced calculus during his teen years), but now decides he wants to understand the game, would he need a book written specifically for a football-challenged male?
Or could it be that there are football books from which anyone who can read could learn the basics of the game?
And therein lies the bad news: the fact that we feel the need to explain things differently to a female adult than we would to a male adult.
Well, okay. There's the toilet seat thing. And the dishes. But we all pretty much get the rest of what life's about, don't you think?
But, you may interject, I'm pretty sure there are more women who don't understand football than there are men who don't understand football.
To which we say: you're most likely right.
And, strange though this may sound at first, therein lies the good news about football books for women.
Actually, these books are an acknowledgment that women may actually want to learn about the game of football. And perhaps even more important, they're also acknowledging the possibility that women may not have been given a fair chance to do so in the past.
That is, if a good number of women don't understand the game, it's not because, as Langston Hughes wrote about the pig in the coffeepot, "the possibilities just ain't there."
The greater likelihood is that women don't 'get it' because no one has bothered to give it.
Okay. Nobody meant any harm. It's just the way it was: a cultural thing.
Pink (and shopping at the mall) for girls. Blue (and football tryouts) for boys. Simply put, most women were never taught about football, whereas most men were.
And now that we've identified the problem, the better news is that the solution is . . . well, quite pleasant, actually. And it's beyond women's football books.
Although, of course, they're not a bad start.
But here's the thing: do you think perhaps women could learn even faster if they had a mentor? If someone took the time (hint, hint, you guys!) to explain the game? Not in 'lady-speak,' but in plain old English?
Okay. It might be that, after everyone understood the game, there would still be more men than women who enjoyed it. Then again, maybe not.
Or . . . are you guys afraid it might peep your hole card? That the 'little lady' would realize that football isn't nearly as complicated or mysterious as you may have (inadvertently, of course) implied?
Fear not. If you play your cards right, the benefits will well outweigh any possible unmasking. We mean, hey: have you considered the potential here for some pretty nifty rewards, relationship-wise?
Think about it.
Cheering together on game nights is a rather passionate activity. You know: the two of you cuddled up on the sofa. The shared excitement. The heat of the moment. Who knows where Sunday Night Football might lead?

"Well, if it isn't the pot calling the kettle black," Porthos commented. For, if anything, Aramis was just as reserved as Athos about revealing his past. In fact, they knew less about Aramis than about Athos. Seemed even the best of friends kept secrets from one another. Maybe even the apparently completely open D'Artagnan was more secretive than he appeared to be.

"Where's the Marquis de Langeac?" the man with a hawk-like nose asked the two men standing before him. "You were charged with finding the marquis and those papers that he gave to his daughter. Well?"
"We done our best, monsieur," one man said. "It was hard enough to find out his identity, and then discover that he'd given the documents to his daughter." For a prominent, old, and established family, remarkably little was known about the marquis or his family.
"I don't pay you to devise excuses, Joseph. You would do well to remember that fact. Now what about the good marquis and his daughter?"
"As far as we can tell," the other man, Guillaume, said, "Thomas d'Anlass contacted his daughter and warned her to flee. So when we arrived at the estate, only the servants remained."
"Really," his superior observed. "I see I have a great deal of incompetence to deal with. A situation which must be rectified."
"Monsieur," Guillaume said. "It was not a total loss. Thomas was injured, and we know he and his daughter did not leave together. In fact, we have reason to believe he enlisted her help and that she is seeking to complete his contacts and deliver the documents in his stead. Nor does Thomas even have all the papers. We know that. So we have an idea where he might be going so he can get the complete information."
All of which did very little good unless they knew where the woman might be heading. The hawk-nosed man turned his back on Joseph and Guillaume and stared out the window into the peaceful, moonlit night.

Most people probably wouldn't associate chemical engineering with creating a better body, but for a scientist in England, the connection is obvious. Dr. Nick Hallale, a former lecturer at the University of Manchester, believes that the fundamental chemical and physical processes used to transform raw materials into finished products are just as applicable to the human body as they are to any other manufacturing process.
In his mid-30s, Hallale applied his scientific knowledge to the challenge of getting back to his college-age shape, with startling results. He has recently released his system, which he calls "The Apollo Program" because of the strong influence of ancient Greek athletes. His research into classical training methods showed him how many of today's diet and exercise beliefs are wrong - including the favourite chest exercises for men.

His advice on how to build chest muscles is to make them look like "slabs" rather than "bulging and hanging from sheer weight." He too was not a fan of the bench press and advocated other exercises instead.

"The Iron Guru") had an impressive list of students, including many bodybuilding champions, as well as actors like Clint Eastwood, Kurt Russell and Carl Weathers (who played Apollo in the Rocky movies!). What kind of picture comes to mind when someone

I don't know about you, but for me, I use to get a
picture of some real, health food nut, with a
white beard, sitting Indian style with his eyes
closed, palms facing up and making weird sounds.
Didn't seem like anything I thought I'd ever do.
In fact, they looked sort of crazy to me and I
didn't really understand it. In fact, I never
bothered to try to understand it either.

The reason I decided to start learning about
meditation is because every single self-development
book, seminar or workshop I would read, hear or
attend, always mentioned meditating.
No matter how many times I heard the word
meditation, I simply ignored it because it
was not for me. I simply wasn't "corny"
like that. You would never catch me sitting
down Indian style and moaning--naannn, not me.
But one day, I decided to read a book on meditation.
I've tried to remember the name of the book,
but for some reason the name escapes me right now.
The name isn't important. What is important is
that it opened up a whole new world for me.
It made me realize the importance of meditating
and how meditating can help me to get in touch
with my inner self.
OK, that sounds kind of corny, too. But, hey, it works.
And, I've learned, that it isn't necessary
for me to grow a long white beard, or to
eat only healthy food (although that wouldn't
be a bad idea).
In fact, what I learned was that I had been
meditating all the long.
Have you ever needed to figure something out
and simply went somewhere you wouldn't be
disturbed, closed your eyes and let you mind
go blank until an idea popped into it?
Well, hey, THAT's meditation.
I use it all the time. And there is absolutely
nothing "corny" about it.
Try this if you aren't already meditating.
When you wake up in the morning, after reviewing
your goals for the day (because you did write
them down before going to sleep, right?)--close
your eyes and put the thought in your head that
you will accomplish all of your goals for the day.
Then, without forcing yourself, let your mind go blank.
Do you know what will happen?
You will receive a thought.
That thought will be somewhat like a statement.
That statement will be something that you will
have to do that day to make sure that you are
able to complete the things you set out to do that day.
It might be a thought to contact someone.
It might be a thought to take a different route to work.
It might be a thought to wear a certain outfit,
write a paper, send an email.
The thought could be anything.
But it will be a call to action of some kind.
Whatever the thought may be--BE SURE TO
TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY.
Do you know that if you run your day using
this technique--everything will go smoothly
for you and you will find yourself closer
and closer to your goals.
Seriously.
Why?
Because you are connecting to your spirit.
Your spirit, if you listen and follow it,
will never lead you astray.
Trust me. Just try it.
It's not necessary to sit Indian style and
it's not necessary for your palms to be
facing up. In fact, you could be laying down,
sitting in a chair--doesn't matter. The only
thing that matters is that you are comfortable
(and it helps that it is somewhat quiet).
Let's say you are at work and a problem comes
up, you don't know how to solve it. Excuse
yourself and go to the bathroom. Go in a stall.
Think, for a moment, about your "problem."
Close your eyes. Clear your mind. And wait for
the answer to come. When it comes, go out and take action.
You'll be surprise how meditation can fit
into your day and help you become the YOU
you've always dreamed of becoming.
