With all the dating advice books out there these days, it's hard to know which one will be the right one for you. After all, everyone has their own personality, and wants to attract a different type of mate, right?
The thing about dating advice is, it really matters who you get it from. For example, if you're looking to attract a fulfilling relationship, you don't necessarily want to be reading advice on how to become a pickup artist. It just won't be congruent with the type of relationship you're trying to attract.
Book For Men
Here are 3 things you should look for in a dating advice book. This goes for men and women alike.
1. First things first, it should target your exact desires. Read the back cover or the sales page. Does it speak to you? Will it solve the specific problems you have? If your problem is meeting women (or men), you don't want a book on how to keep a relationship. You want a book that will help you with your specific problems.
2. Is the author an expert, or just someone who felt like writing a book on dating? I've read a lot of dating books in my time, and I can tell you first hand that you're going to get a lot more out of the experts than you are from Sally who wrote "how to make a man fall in love and want to marry you in 6 months or less". Maybe this one is common sense, but look up the author. What do others have to say about him or her?
3. Does it have actionable advice? You don't want a book thats just full of psycho babble you won't understand. Sure, it's good to know some things, but some books are just flat out confusing. You want a book that says, "try this", not "try to understand this".
I think reading a good dating advice book is really important for everyone, because dating is something that can be a great experience or a great headache, and dating and attracting the opposite sex isn't something that comes easily to everyone.
So go out there, and get a good one...you'll be glad you did.
